1. Structured Launch Plan
A subscription launch is a product launch, not a feature flip. Treat it that way and you will compound results; rush it and you will spend the first six months fighting churn from a poorly designed offer.
Phase 1 — Pre-launch.
Goal: validate the offer, prepare assets, and align operations.
Foundation
- Define the core subscriber promise in one sentence (e.g. "Never run out of X, save Y%, change anything anytime").
- Identify the one or two SKUs that should anchor the program. Subscriptions work best with consumable, predictable, or evolving-need products.
- Set a target delivery cadence for each SKU based on actual consumption data, not guesses.
- Choose your KPIs upfront: subscriber count, AOV, gross/net churn, LTV, payback period.
